Lot sold to William Brown by Hackaliah Burt in April 1825. Brown built this house in 1820 or 1821. It was sold to William H. Seward in 1829. According to Mary VanSikle Wait in Brigham Young in Cayuga County, Seward told Brigham Young that he bought this house and lived here for a year or two, and since then it has had several owners.
